Alison Jacobs

Associate

Alison relies on her passion for the law, and diverse legal interests, to assist clients with a wide range of civil litigation matters.

Returning to Fraser Litigation Group after having completed her articles as a law clerk with the Ontario Superior Court of Justice in Toronto, Alison gained exposure to all areas of law, as well as insight into the judicial system.

Alison graduated from Dalhousie University’s Schulich School of Law in 2020, where she was awarded the University Medal in Law, for having the highest average in her graduating class over all three years of the program. She has been recognized for her achievements with numerous other awards, including the Judge Fran Potts Award in Law, the Raymond Larkin Law Prize in Ethics, the Stuart Clarke Lane Memorial Prize in Administrative Law, the John L. Harris Q.C. Memorial Scholarship, the W.S. O’Hara Prize in Criminal Law, as well as the Alistair Fraser Awards in Property Law, Public Law, Tort Law, Family Law, and Research Excellence.

A skilled researcher, Alison gained experience while at law school as an editorial assistant to the Dalhousie Law Journal, a research volunteer for the Nova Scotia Justices of the Peace, and as a student law clerk with the Nova Scotia Court of Appeal.  She also developed her advocacy skills as a Summer Director and volunteer with the Dalhousie Student Advocacy Service, where she frequently appeared before the University Senate in defence of students accused of academic and code of conduct offences, as well as by participating in the Wilson Moot competition.
